Chan Wu is scheduled for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy with an intraoperative cholangiogram and common duct exploration
Chan Wu is scheduled for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy with an intraoperative cholangiogram and common duct exploration. He has multiple gallstones and a very large common duct stone that was unable to be removed via endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Chan is 80 years old and his previous surgical procedures include bilateral hip replacements, a right shoulder replacement, and a kyphoplasty. He is jaundiced and complaining of intense pruritus in the holding area. You notice that he has several open lesions on his arms from scratching. 1. Describe the procedure for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy with intraoperative cholangiogram, in detail. 2. Does Mr. Wu have any factors that could increase his risk for intraoperative or postoperative complications? 3. Create a nursing care plan for Mr. Wu. You should have no less than three nursing diagnoses and no less than three interventions per diagnosis
